Keyboard productivity 2.0 has just arrived. The new version of Qliner Hotkeys brings powerful new features, greater extensibility and better looks. Read on to learn what is new.
This page provides an overview of the new features of Hotkeys 2.0. For a general overview of the product please navigate here.
Ease of use
The on screen keyboard can now also be 'toggled' (try Win+Z). When in toggle mode the keyboard can also be moved around the screen.
There are three new keyboard layouts for popular laptops: IBM, Sony and Toshiba.
Hotkeys now ships with a keyboard symbols font, with the symbols you typically find on tab, enter, backspace and shift keys, for better rendering.
The default keyboard fonts have been tuned to provided better quality of rendering and better readability at low resolution displays.

Keyboard tools
Keyboard tools are small, action oriented applications that extend the functionality of Hotkeys. More can be found online.

The existing clock and volume tools have been seriously enhanced and some new tools have been added.
The easiest way to configure tool hotkeys is to right-click an available key on the on screen keyboard. On the pop up context menu select 'New Hotkey' and navigate to tools.

Work more secure
Use a Windows user account without administrative privileges for your day-to-day computer use. Hotkeys makes living as non admin easy by allowing you to start applications using an administrative (or any other) account.
Practical new features
Custom icons was a much requested feature; now 10 different links to web pages actually look like 10 different links.
Starting applications has also significantly improved. We have better support for command line arguments and a 'Start in' folder can be specified.
You can now also replace or remove the system default hotkeys (like E, R, F, D, B, M, etc.).
